Who is Jillea?

Hi! I'm a costume designer and whimsical artist with over 12 years of experience in the industry. I started out as a musician, but my passion for over-the-top fashion, stage performance, and artistic expression led me to naturally pivot into professional cosplay and costume design. I've made a name for myself with bold, inventive designs using unconventional materials—like the iconic Diet Coke can corset I created for Julia Fox, which gained worldwide attention.

My work has been featured in major outlets like Vogue Germany and Teen Vogue. I’ve become a go-to designer for celebrity Halloween costumes, often landing my pieces on the best-dressed lists, especially at Heidi Klum’s famous Halloween party. Mini Course Content

This mini course includes 8 video lessons with over 3 hours of content. You’ll learn step-by-step how to build fantasy corsets and chest plates using thermoplastic or EVA foam. The mini course guides you through assessing which corset style suits you best and provides a comprehensive PDF with suggested materials and sourcing tips. You’ll learn how to pattern and build EVA foam bases, as well as thermoplastic bases over a mannequin. The course covers self-patterned detailing, fabric adhesion and construction, and how to fabricate back panels and cups specifically for these corset types. You’ll also master thermoplastic, foam, or hot glue detailing, filigree sculpting using molds, and dynamic painting techniques. Finally, you’ll add finishing touches like crystals and fully line your piece to ensure it looks stunning inside and out!
